You can help organize a clothing drive. Volunteers can also organize a Bridges Run. This is when trained volunteers go directly to the streets and shelters to meet homeless men, women, and children. They have trucks which are loaded with food, clothing, toiletries, etc. You can volunteer at Bridges Tuesdays 9a-3:30, Fridays 9a to 3:30. On the website there is a calendar for the summer run dates.

Go to the website, click on volunteer, then click on 'Runs'.The website has very clear instructions on how to volunteer. Donations are accepted any time when the center is open. If you want to volunteer, click on Volunteer, then you can choose Runs, Soupmakers, lunches, Toiletry kits/ cold weather packs, or Organize a Drive. If you choose to help with a 'run', you have to register with the volunteer coordinator, fill out some forms, and sign a waiver. All run volunteers need to be at least High school age.

Bridges has a committee called Bridges Teens Tackle Homelessness (TTH). this is a group of High School students dedicated to learning about the causes and solutions to homelessness. Each year the committee plans an educational conference on homelessness for High School students across New Jersey. TTH meets throughout the school year, and often plans several summer activities. There is a link on the website where you can read more about this committee.
